In LOGAN with Jentry, Andrea, & Don

My uncle Don came to town to see his son Jentry graduate from the University of Utah with a Masters.
CONGRATULATIONS JENTRY!!!
Jentry invited us down and so on Saturday we planned on coming down. We wanted to make a whole day of it. We are itching to get out of Woodruff and go hiking. We started with hiking Old Jardine Juniper in the Logan canyon. We started with a picnic. Then the kids, Aaron, and I walk for about 45 minutes up and 30 minutes down. It was the perfect day and a perfect hike. We felt like we were on a vacation in a different state.

Mason was the most exited of us all about the outdoors. He would say "ook mom, ook mom, ook mom " until I would look and then point out a tree. He showed me every tree on the hike. He then did the same thing for the rocks. By the end of the hike he was jumping over all the rock. Which met he was not walking a lot but jumping. Here is a picture of Mason showing me a rock.

All the pictures are so out of order, but all good. Just know we started with a hike and ended with dinner at Jentry's with 2 1/2 inch thick hamburgers. It was so fun . We are so glad we made it down. Mason is hoping Jentry keeps Andrea around. We are too, she is just as much fun as Jentry and Don.

Do we need proof?

My sister in law Jessica just posted a milestone her business just had. She has had her own business for 4 years now. An anniversary of some kind. That got me thinking. I am not good with words and so I never write very much; except today. Here is a thought from Crystalyn.

I am a 30 year old female. I do not have a college degree. I had my first child at age 22. I did not go on a mission. I have never been outside the United States. I got married at 19, one month from being 20. I'm a stay at home mom. There has been lots of people all my life telling me my opinion doesn't mean much.

Why have I had to demand the respect of the people in this world? Now realize my world is mostly Mormons too. Here are 5 true examples that happened in my life. I know all of you can relate.
1. I got reprehended in the nursing lounge at church by a women for having a child too young.
2. When telling my opinion or thoughts I got cut off, with the statement, "I want to hear what Aaron has to say."
3. Most the men in my life don't think I can drive. Yet I have a better driving record and lower insurance payment then them.
4. When walking onto a basketball court I must prove to them I can play before they pass me the ball.
5. When doing a home improvement and no one thought I could do it.

SO HERE IS MY ANSWER...
I came up with my answer because I bet I am guilty of doing those same things to someone else. I bet I made someone fell in ad acquit without knowing it.

Someone's opinion is worth more after they have some experience. I think we all need proof. You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk. Prove it.

I was getting my hair cut and the stylist's friend was telling my stylist's about her problem getting a loan for a house. I gave her my opinion and she didn't respond to me. She kept talking to her. I didn't think anything of it, but later she said something else and I new a great solution. So I told her again what I thought. My stylist then asked me how I new all that. I told her how I am trying to purchase my second house without any loan officers. She and her friend then stop and stared at me, waiting for my next sentence. That day was different in my life, my opinion was worth something.

Do we need proof or should we all listen more?

Our first hike of the year.

We thought we would start the warm season off with a 3 mile hike up to Berch Reservoir. It's a perfect hike for five year old legs. At the top we will eat lunch and if it was warmer we would go swimming. We're going this Saturday, May 3rd. It's located on this side of Monti Cristo. Josh and Melissa are coming and everyone else are WELCOME TO COME TOO.
This Summer will be full of camping, hiking, swimming, and biking trips. Every time we plan one I'll post it and if you can come that would be even better.

Marmalade house IS DONE AND RENTED OUT

We were are so very very blessed. Rachel's dad wanted to sale his Salt Lake City house. He gave it to us for a great price but it needed a LOT of work. Aaron and I love the area. They call it the Marmalade District. It is right down town, two blocks from everything. Two blocks from West High, Washington Elm, Trax station, temple square, the new down town development, a really big park, and the Gateway Mall. It of course is in the same ward we lived in before we moved to Woodruff. Ok are you all up to speed.

I personally have had a lot of fun painting and fixing the place. I've wanted to fix that house for 7 years. Ever since I met Rachel 7 years ago. I tried to start fixing the bathroom in February but Rachel's dad still lived there so I couldn't really do anything yet. At the end of March he moved out and I was able to pack up Mason and Cameron and spend a week there.

So for 5 weeks I have spend most my days there. I did one room at a time and started with cleaning the ceiling and mudding the holes and cracks in the ceiling. Then sanded the mud. Then painted two coats of paint. Then I could start on the walls. Next came the baseboards and moldings and last was the floor. Aaron did all the wood floors. He is so handy.

Sometimes I have Taylor with me too. Two of the last weekends Aaron came down too. Just this Saturday my mom, my younger brother Josh, and his wife Melissa come over to paint. A big THANK YOU goes out to them for staying so late and helping. Mike, Mom, Chad, Jessica, Ethan, and Stephanie have helped out so much by watching my boys for me. Work goes so much faster with out them. Taylor, Cameron, and Mason have been neglected and I hope it is not in vain. We hope to have it work out so that we have another income from renting it out. More money gives us more time with our boys, friends, and family. We have lots of camping and trips planned for this summer. Thanks everyone. Let's go camping!

Here are some before and after pictures.

Bella was blessed today.

boots

I got my very own snowboard boots yesterday. I am exited. Not that I want anymore snow this year, but next year I plan on getting up on the mountain more. This year when I went boarding I FINALLY GOT IT!!! I caught the vision of how to do it. I am exited to try some more and now that I have boots that fit nice I will control the board better. I really am so exited. Maybe I'll go up one more time this year. Anybody want to go?

My "cuzin" Jentry

We had a great visitor stop by today. Jentry. He is one of 5 cousins I have. That is it. I have only 5 from my mom's side and none from my Dad's. It's weird to me because Aaron has 54 cousin's from just his Dad's side and 6 I think from his Mom's. Here are some great shots from the evening. The girl is a friend named Andrea that he came with. She was a lot of fun to play with too. And I say play because we had pillow fights and running races and tug of wars while they were here. Just a lot of fun.
