February Piano RECITAL

At the first of the year sometime we had a piano recital here in our house.  Taylor started playing the piano at the beginning of his 3rd grade year and Cameron started the same day.  He was starting his 1st grade year.  At this point they have been learning the piano 4 and 1/2 years.  Mason started his 1st grade year so he's been playing 1 1/2.  I see great things come of piano practice.  To name a few, Taylor gained a better level of confidence in himself from learning a hard songs and accomplishing hard things.  Cameron gained a better perspective of himself.  He sees himself as a person with multiple talents.  Mason has had to concentrate from beginning to end of songs or else he gets it wrong.  It's really helped him in school.  I really believe school would not be as easy as it is for Mason or Cameron or Taylor without piano keeping their brain actively learning. 

And we bought this piano for only $60 put in $200 fixing a few keys and tuning it.  Then retuned it when we moved to Texas but that is it so far.  I dream of someday replacing all the keys and restoring the wires and pads needed so it plays nice.  I think the woodworking and design of the piano is beautiful.  I even like the natural peina that has built up.  Some day when we aren't paying $135-$180 a month on piano lessons. If I did the math right, Taylor's Junior year in High School will be Olivia's 1st grade year in school, so that means paying for 5 kid's piano lessons.  

SNOW !!

SNOW DAY.  School didn't open until 10:00.  The boys came home from school and the snow was still around and so they filled their buckets full of snowballs and had a real snowball fight.  The friends around are usually Josh and Matt, and then Grayson and Blake and Gabe.

Everyone had to figure out how to give gifts without any financial help from the parents.  In the end everyone found perfect gifts and they enjoyed giving them just as much as receiving.  It was a great Christmas.

In a big way we created a princess out of Olivia.  Each time she gets something pink or purple we would said, "Ohh so cute."

2013 Overview

I love my family.  I've always thought it was hard to have babies.  And I still think that.  Having kids are totally different hard and I do better with kids.  So Aaron and I are finally at that "stage" in our life, where we can play play play with our kids.  They give us real competition, which is fun. The hard part is they want to play more then I have energy and time for.  It's a good problem to have.  Here are a few pictures of 2013 fun with the Hull Family.

Heritage Park with Grandma

Grandma Glenda Borgstrom.  Or we call her Grandma B, loves all the Heritage Park offers to their visitors.  So she took Taylor, Cameron, Mason, Emmett, Olivia, Jozie and Haven to it, with my help we saw it all and had a lot of fun.  Thanks for a great day.

Utah Spring 2012

There are so many good times I'm making another post.  Here are some good times we had in the Spring of 2012.  Just before we left Utah.

 Every Tuesday at 11:00 we would have a lunch/playgroup.  Most the time we would be inside the church gym but a few times each summer it was warm enough to be outside.
